NIFREL is the first facility in Japan to go beyond the general aquarium. It is a combination of five categories: an aquarium, a zoo, an art gallery, communication with curators, and an ever-changing display. NIFREL emphasizes "contact" which links diverse creatures and personality as themes in order to present a new world to public. The museum uses different sensory devices to present the themes in 7 areas. I believe you are looking forward to meet and contact with a variety of marine life and experience an unprecedented experience. Come and meet them!
7 areas included:
1. Colors
- In this area, we will bring you into the colourful underwater world. You can meet colourful fish in 13 sinks.
2. Abilities
- The creatures equip with some unexpected skills that you couldn't think of. In this area, you can observe their skills and discover their special features at close range.
3. Shapes
- Under the blue light, the creatures show different postures.
4. Wonder moments
- You can appreciate the sculptures of water, flowers and other works that depict in the sphere. It looks like you are in a dream world and it is absolutely wonderful.
5. Waterside
- Enjoying the creatures that have been living on the waterside, you can simply feel refreshed. By approaching them with your hands, you can feel their enthusiasm towards human.
6. Behavior
- The open area here gives you a chance to get close contact with creatures and observe their actions. Living in the same area, you can communicate with them, and experience with your heart in order to leave wonderful memories.
7. Biodiversity
- Humans and creatures seem to have many "different points," but in fact they are close. You can view the stereoscopic images played by the two-sided screen so as to explore the similarities between them.
